The Old Grovian Rugby Team is a side of mainly Old Grovians who have played rugby to a good level.
The team began life in the Yorkshire 5B league which is a bottom league but nonetheless produces an excellent and very challenging standard of play.

The Old Grovians netball match took place on 14th November as part of the OG weekend celebrations.
Following a fantastic effort of advertising the event on facebook by Laura Myers the Old Grovians team had a record breaking turnout of over 15 players. This turnout was aided by the fact that a team of 10 former pupils and staff have been participating in a Netball League run by Total Netball on a Tuesday night, in which we have had great success, coming runner up last season and are currently 3rd this season.
Due to the large number of players we were able to play two games, the first against the current school 2nd team and the other as "young Old Grovians" versus "Old Grovians"!
The first game against the school started quickly with the OGs taking the lead strongly in the first half, the school fought back in the second half leading to a competitive finish with the OG bringing home the victory. After a heated discussion over where the boundary lay between young and old, the benchmark fell somewhere near those leaving in 2006 (which unfortunately put Emma Humphries on the young team!).
This game was played in great spirit and everyone commented on how great it was that we had enough players to do this, the first time in the school history. The result went in favour of the younger side, although us old ones did not give up easily!
The hope is that next year we have enough players to just play against each other which would show how much netball has developed at the school.
